Privacy policy

Effective Date: April 20, 2026

Summary: SHP Asset Manager collects no personal data. All settings are stored locally on your device. Bluetooth is used only to control connected hardware. Internet access is used only to check for firmware updates via GitHub. Nothing is shared with third parties.

1. Overview

SHP Asset Manager is a Bluetooth-based camera trigger application designed for professional photographers. This policy explains how the app handles (or does not handle) your data.

We take your privacy seriously. The short version: we collect no personal information, send nothing to our servers, and share nothing with third parties.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

SHP Asset Manager does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personally identifiable information (PII). There are no accounts, no sign-in, no profile data, and no analytics.

Specifically, the app does not collect: your name, email address, location history, device identifiers, usage analytics, crash reports, or any other personal data.

3. Local Storage Only

All configuration you enter in the app — trigger thresholds, delay values, device preferences, and other settings — is stored exclusively on your device using React Native's AsyncStorage.

This data never leaves your device. It is not synced to any cloud service, not transmitted to our servers, and not shared with any third party. Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data.

4. Bluetooth Permission

The app requires Bluetooth access to discover and communicate with Cable Trigger hardware. Bluetooth is used solely to send and receive trigger commands to connected devices.

No Bluetooth scan results, paired device identifiers, or communication logs are transmitted off-device or stored beyond the current session. The app does not use Bluetooth for advertising, tracking, or any purpose other than direct hardware control.

5. Location Permission (Android 10 and 11 Only)

On Android 10 (API 29) and Android 11 (API 30), Google requires apps to hold the ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION or ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION permission in order to scan for Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) devices. This is an Android platform requirement — not a choice made by SHP Asset Manager.

The app does not use this permission to determine, record, or transmit your physical location. The permission is requested solely to satisfy the Android BLE scanning requirement. On Android 12 and later, the BLUETOOTH_SCAN permission is used instead and no location permission is required.

6. Internet Access and Firmware Updates

The app requests internet access for one purpose only: to check for and download firmware updates for connected Cable Trigger hardware. Update checks are performed by querying the public GitHub Releases API for the relevant firmware repository.

No personal data, device identifiers, or usage information is included in these requests. The only data exchanged is the version information needed to determine whether a firmware update is available and to download the update binary.

7. Volume Button Interception

SHP Asset Manager can intercept the device's physical volume buttons to use them as a remote shutter trigger. This feature is entirely local — it captures the hardware button event within the app and converts it to a Bluetooth trigger command.

No keypress data is recorded, transmitted, or shared. The interception is active only while the app is in the foreground and the feature is enabled in settings.

8. No Third-Party Analytics or Advertising

The app does not integrate any third-party analytics SDKs, crash reporting services, advertising networks, or social media trackers. No data about your usage of SHP Asset Manager is collected by or shared with any third party.

9. No Data Sharing

Because we collect no personal data, there is nothing to share, sell, or license to third parties. We do not and will not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise transfer any user data to outside parties.

10. Children's Privacy

SHP Asset Manager does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). The app collects no personal information from any user, regardless of age.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page will reflect the date of the most recent revision. Continued use of the app after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
